Behind-the-scene commentary from Greg Evans:
Ok, so I pulled kind of a cheesy trick here. The 9-2 strip lead readers to believe that Brad and Toni have eloped. Naturally, this triggered a ton of comments at GoComics, especially of the “I called it!!” variety. Next day, I revealed that it was only a fantasy. Naturally, this triggered a ton of comments at GoComics, especially of the “I called it!!” variety.

This is a very short collection, so I don’t have much to report. I guess I’ll pad a bit by making an observation about the drawing in the first strip, the one where Toni and Brad’s eyes look weird. Toni appears to be stoned and Brad just looks… dorky. I mentioned in a previous post that I have trouble getting Brad’s profile and front view to align. It’s something in his hairline and the placement of his nose relative to his eyes and his ears. Or something.

And one other drawing detail. Once Brad and Toni got engaged and now that they’re married, I need to always remember to draw the wedding rings. I’ve been pretty spotty where Frank and Nancy are concerned so I’m relying on my wife’s eagle eye to catch these things. If you ever see a strip in which these characters aren’t wearing rings, just remember: it’s all my wife’s fault.
