Behind-the-scene commentary from Greg Evans:
I gotta say, sometimes I wish Brad had chosen a different occupation. Like Professional Mattress Tester. Or Expert Paperclip Counter. But noooo. He had to pick a job that requires difficult drawings of trucks, equipment, uniforms, etc. Sheesh.

This collection represents major movement in the strip. The Brad/Toni story really shifts into high gear, drama-wise. In terms of art, I’d never worked so hard. I think this is when fans really began to attach themselves to this story. Both Brad and Toni show some very nuanced, interesting sides. Although Toni is still as dense as always concerning familial relationships; in the 6-16 strip, she again refers to Shannon as her cousin. Who’s writing this stuff, people?!
